Twitch is adding a live stats tracker for League of Legends streams

It’s League of Legends week on Twitch, so to celebrate, the streaming platform is improving the game’s viewer experience with a live tracker extension.

During LoL streams, fans will be able to check the in-game scorecard to not only see how each player in the game is faring but also look at the builds and runes of competitors too. There will even be a match history option which will display the order each player has purchased items and levelled up their skills.


The tool will be useful for those looking to either learn or improve at the game and should clean up Twitch chat now that viewers can have their questions answers in the flick of a button. The extension will launch on February 20 and will be available in 13 different languages including French, German, Spanish, and Korean.


The LoL week on Twitch ties in with the official launch of the game’s Clash Mode which starts this weekend. Clash is a competitive game type which creates organised competitions between premade teams of five with a scouting tool which allows you to see your opponent’s stats and best champions.
The mode had a disastrous launch back in 2018 as Clash gathered so much interest, that the mode had various issues on multiple servers across the world. However, after careful testing and a few betas, Riot Games is confident that the mode will now work smoothly as intended.


On top of that, there will also be a LoL Twitch Rivals Streamer Showdown tournament starting today, February 18 at 12:00 PST (20:00 GMT) and will include popular streamers such as Zachary ‘Sneaky’ Scuderi, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys, William ‘Scarra’ Li, and Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp. With 16 teams competing, there will be 80 streamers competing for $75,000 (£57.5k) in prizes.

Viewers who link their Riot accounts to the streaming website and tune into the official Twitch Rivals channel or the broadcasts of participating streamers can earn Clash Tokens which will allow players to compete in a Clash tournament for free.
